Follow the Star

Having lived in Los Angeles for the last 31 years, I have seen firsthand the rise and fall of many stars. In 1982, I auditioned for a role in a Francis Ford Coppola film called The Outsiders. I didn’t get the part but the following actors were hired right at the beginning of their careers:

C. Thomas Howell (Pre Soul Man), Matt Dillon (Pre The Flamingo Kid), Ralph Macchio (Pre Karate Kid), Patrick Swayze (Pre Dirty Dancing), Rob Lowe (Pre Breakfast Club), Emilio Estevez (Pre Breakfast Club), Tom Cruise (Pre Risky Business), and Diane Lane (Pre The Cotton Club).

If there is a secret to success, it just might be little things done well.
